My name is Brandon Rubin and I love to work with metal. I am a student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. My hometown is Agoura Hills in southern California. It is beautiful down there but I don’t plan on moving back. I intend to move on to Portland, Oregon after I graduate in a year. It will probably take closer to two years before I move so I can have some job experience first.
I’m a sculpture major and I love to make things and play with tools. I work mostly in metal but am falling in love with clay and hope someday to work with glass. I doubt I’ll ever stick to a particular secondary medium as I’ve enjoyed working with most things I have come across. The key, however, is that I metal will always be present. I’ve tried taking a semester without a metals class in it and I started feeling lost and a bit crazy by midterms.
